Good Monday! Today is the 4th day of LNY and probably many people have return to work after the long holiday.
Sent baby to preschool and headed to town with hubby since he wanted to get his MacBook fixed. Since it was still early and majority of the mall operation open at 11am, we headed for breakfast at my all-time favourite “Toast Box” but an “ATAS” version at Ion Orchard rebranded as “Tea Loft”.
Initial plan was to go PasarBella @ The Grandstand for lunch but possibility of not many stores opening kept us brainstorming of other makan locations. Since we were along Bukit Timah/ Woodlands Road, Porn’s at Junction10 popped up in my head. We visited Junction10 exactly a year ago during LNY but we didn’t have lunch at Porn’s. So time to give it a try!
1. Tom Yam Soup (Clear/ Prawn)
Spicy, sour and sweet flavors bursting like fireworks in my mouth. I love the taste of this tom yum soup. I think I can probably finish the bowl for 2 on my own, even without rice. Not a hardcore fan of TY soup, but this bowl of TY soup has certainly found favour with my palate.
2. Thai Prawn Cake
Loves the crisp and tasty prawn + paste within it. There was 3 pieces in a basket, each about the size of my palm. Definitely worth the try!
3. Shrimp Paste Fried Rice
A unique rice dish which tasted yummy. Accompanied with green papaya, egg, onions, succulent prawns, cucumber and tomato.
4. Thai Sambal Kang Kong
What differentiate the taste of the Sambal Kang Kong? The sambal chilli of course!! This dish was boring!! I can see finely chopped garlic and chilli on the kangkong but where is the flavor?
5. Signature’ Lemongrass Drink
I always enjoy a chilled lemongrass drink after Thai Food which refreshes the palate after experiencing an array of bursting flavors earlier. Will definitely be back to try other dishes soon!!
So stay tune for more updates!!
