Papa Palheta aka CSHH Coffee Bar

For those of you who have been following Chef Mummy Tan’s Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, did you managed to guess where am I?

This cafe, Papa Palheta or otherwise also known as CSHH Coffee Bar is located at 150 Tyrwhitt Road Singapore 207563 (approximately 10-15 minutes walk from Lavender MRT station).

This is my 1st visit to Papa Palheta (definitely not the last) and what is so interesting about this place is that when I  stood right in front of its’ entrance, I would never have expected to see such an exquisite coffee bar inside.

A spacious outdoor atrium for you to enjoy a delicate cup of freshly brewed coffee with the roasting procedure happening right behind you. How amazing to know that each cup of order is carefully selected, roasted and brewed just for you!!

If you find the outdoor atrium too humid for you, you can always choose a seat in the air conditioned interior which just feels nostalgic. This is an open concept coffee boutique whereby you witness the barista preparing each individual coffee differently.

For those of you who are new to Papa Palheta (just like me), “Papa Palheta is an independent coffee boutique, specialising in roasting and purveying specialty coffee in Singapore and Malaysia. Their philosophy is to bring out the best in the beans through their unique micro production method to roast and brew their coffee.” To find out more about Papa Palheta, you can check out their website by clicking here – Papa Palheta.

The interior is classically designed with the vintage touch and it seems that I have travelled back to the 80s’. Sitting in the coffee bar with my loved one, enjoying a freshly brewed coffee and tea is just the way to spend an afternoon.

“Simplicity is always Happiness!”

Nothing fanciful. Just a simple cup of brewed coffee and an Earl Grey Tea.

Sitting in front of the coffee bar and seeing the barista meticiously prepare each special cup of coffee just blow you away.

Something interesting captured my sight when I realised there was a little drain like opening on the coffee bar which customers are seated. Customers can buy a pack of freshly brewed beans (according to your own preference) and get the barista to prepare it. Seeing how much efforts Papa Palheta train their baristas to prepare each cup of coffee according to each individual customer’s preference, it is a Must Visit Coffee Bar for any coffee lovers out there.

There is a Retail Rack for customers who are keen to purchase any items that are seemed within the bar from beans to machines.

After finishing your coffee, why not take a walk up level 2 and visit General Co., a retail boutique selling some unique handmade items as well as Papa Palheta’ demin apron which the barista are wearing.

For those of you who are inspired to try your hands on being a barista, Papa Palheta has an avenue known as the C-Platform where coffee enthusiasts can enhance their knowledge and skills of coffee. You can either register as an individual or with a group of 4-5 friends to attend their C-Platform classes which are WSQ certified and beneficial for those who are keen to pursue a career in barista.

That’s about all for now. Hope you have a fruitful insight into my introduction on Papa Palheta.

Stay tune for other updates soon!!
